TAKE-HOME PROJECT BAGS!

Project Bags contain materials and instructions for projects inspired by works in our collection. We are offering these bags free of charge while our in-person programming for kids is suspended. Project bags are most appropriate for children ages 3-12.

The Secret Lives of Objects project bag prompts you to wonder – what if our everyday household objects were secretly alive? That’s what artist Linda Lopez used as a starting point to create the fantastical items that fill the exhibition Linda Lopez: Long Lost, on view at the Springfield Art Museum until March 20, 2022. This bag contains everything you need to explore more about the artist and to create your version of a object with a secret life by coloring and sculpting air dry clay. Click here to register for a The Secret Lives of Objects project bag! Project bags will be available for pick-up from the museum lobby during normal museum hours beginning the week of December 14.

HELP KEEP PROJECT BAGS FREE!

Since beginning the Take-Home Project Bag initiative, the Museum has distributed over 10,000 project bags to individual families and local schools! Donations to our Education Fund - large or small - help keep projects like this as accessible as possible to all members of our community.

Simply select "Education" from the drop-down list on our online donation form. We appreciate your generosity and partnership in helping us to deliver art-making programs in our community!

Located in the Museum’s Education Wing, the Family Art Lab and Book Nook are interactive spaces where children can explore art on their own terms—by touching, building and pretending. Full of blocks, Magna-Tiles, books, art games and more, the Family Art Lab can provide a break during a Museum visit or be a destination in itself. The Book Nook is a quiet space where kids can peruse our fantastic collection of children’s art books. We invite families to be creative together in these spaces designed just for them!
